Make Your Own Sensual Massage Oil

How does a nice massage sound like to you right now? I know I’m dying to get one, and that’s why I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a massage oil for myself – or rather, for my partner to massage me with.

The very basics for making a massage oil, is that you need a carrier oil and someĀ  aromatherapeutic, essential oils of choice. I normally use sunflower oil as a carrier, because that’s what we normally have in the kitchen cabinet. It doesn’t smell and it works wonders for the skin too.

The following links are, for the most part, links to iHerb.com, and they include my coupon code. All first time buyers applying this code will get a 5$ discount, and I will receive a small fee for having sent them new customers. Just so you know. :)

You can, however, chose to go all the way and get what aromatherapeuts use: Sweet Almond Oil. This is 100% pure and minimally refined, so you know you’ll get an oil of great quality.

And then you’ll need your essential oils of choice. The general rule is that you’ll add 2-3 drops of essential oil to one teaspoon of carrier oil, giving you an estimate of how much you’ll need.

There are several ways you can go with this. You can make it simple and only add one, or you can make blends. Lovely oils to make simple sensual massage oils with are ylang ylang, rose, jasmine and patchouly.

What I’m going to do, however, is to make myself a really nice sensual massage oil blend. I found this recipe in a book I bought several years ago, called Essential Oils, written by Susan Curtis (this is a link to Amazon.co.uk – no affiliate link).

Her suggestion for a sensual massage oil for women, is this:

2 drops of bergamot oil

2 drops of coriander oil

6 drops of jasmine oil

4 drops of rose oil

2 drops of sandalwood oil

This is for two tablespoons worth of carrier oil, so you have to multiply the numbers if you’re making more. A massage oil will keep for 6-12 months if it’s stored properly in a Dark Apothecary Glass Bottle (affiliate link to Amazon.com) or something similar.

So. There you go, then! You’re very own, natural sensual massage oil. That doesn’t sound too bad, does it? Tell me how it goes if you’re making one, or if you have another recipe to share!
